Is using LED lights energy-saving or energy-saving? This question has been bothering me all along. Later, during the renovation of my new house, I specifically asked the light installation technician, and they told me that LED and other devices are not as energy-efficient as I imagined!

What LED light
Simply put, it is a light-emitting diode that converts electrical energy into light energy to meet daily lighting needs.
Why do LEDs not save electricity
① Energy saving and power-saving cannot be generalized
Many people believe that LED lights save electricity, but in fact, they are misled by the marketing of businesses, equating energy conservation with electricity saving. In fact, the opposite is true. Compared to traditional incandescent lamps, LED lamps have lower energy consumption. At the same brightness, LED lamps definitely consume less energy and are more energy-efficient than incandescent lamps; But at the same power (energy consumption), the brightness of LED lights is twice as high as incandescent lights, and the higher the brightness, the higher the energy consumption. Therefore, it seems that the power consumption of LED lights is not very low.
② High frequency of electricity consumption
With the improvement of living conditions, in order to ensure sufficient indoor lighting, LED lights are basically turned on at night. Nowadays, the power of LED lights is getting higher and higher (basically reaching 40W-60W), and the longer the light is turned on, the greater the power consumption. How much energy can be saved by increasing the wattage of the lighting fixtures and the frequency of electricity consumption?
③ Short service life
According to theory, LED lights can run for 100000 hours, which means that buying a light at home can last for decades without replacement. However, in reality, this perfect outcome cannot be achieved. If that’s the case, I reckon the manufacturers selling lighting fixtures have already gone bankrupt!
The service life of LED lights on the market is basically maintained at 3-5 years, and high-quality LED lights can only last up to 8 years. Why is the service life so limited? This concerns a core component inside the LED light – the driver.
It contains many small components that enable the normal operation of the lighting fixture. But it itself is quite delicate and susceptible to external environmental factors such as dust, moisture, high temperature, etc., which can easily damage it. Common conditions such as lights not turning on and flickering are all caused by driver malfunctions.
In summary, although LED lights are energy-saving and efficient, they do not save electricity or money~
What should I do if the LED light is broken?
Just buy a replacement wick and install it yourself, there’s no need to spend a lot of money to find a manufacturer to replace it!!! Don’t know how to refer to it quickly!!
